Wisconsin company acquires Polaris factory

Kapco Inc., a Grafton, Wis.-based metal fabrication and stamping company, has acquired Polaris Industries’ metalworking operations in Osceola, Wis., according to published reports.

The deal comes after Polaris’ announcement in May to close or sell operations in the northwest Wisconsin city while enhancing the existing Roseau, Minn., and Spirit Lake, Iowa, production facilities and establishing a new facility in Mexico.

Kapco will lease the Osceola plant and become a Tier 1 supplier to Polaris, while Polaris allows Kapco to seek other customers in Minnesota, according to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. Kapco will buy Polaris’ metalworking equipment at the plant, and it plans to hire at least 50 new employees. Polaris reported to the Journal Sentinel in May that it had 515 employees at the plant.

Kapco is a family run business that supplies metal components to Harley-Davidson, Oshkosh Corp. and other companies.
