Improving UTV sales boost Polaris’ recent quarter

Strong UTV sales and improved Victory retail performance helped Polaris Industries boost its second-quarter sales by a double-digit percentage.

Polaris reported today second-quarter sales of $430 million, a 25 percent rise over the year-ago period.

Polaris officials said its UTV sales were up “significantly” over a year ago, although they did not detail what the percentage increase was. Polaris did say the increase has been seen throughout the United States and it is aggressively increasing production to meet retail demand.

Victory sales also are on the rise. The company said its retail sales grew more than 10 percent in North American compared to the year-ago quarter.

Polaris also noted a continued stable retail lending environment. Polaris said its customers’ approval rate through retail financing by GE, HSBC and Sheffield is at 57 percent, higher than both the last quarter and the year-ago quarter.
