Honda used ATVs drawing most consumer interest
Honda has two of three most-often viewed used ATVs of 400cc and over, according to Kelley Blue Book data provided to Powersports Business.
Honda’s 2005 TRX 450R was the most-often viewed ATV?of over 400cc, according to consumers who logged on to Kelley Blue Book’s Web site.
Suzuki’s 2003 Quadsport Z400 was the top viewed ATV?of 250cc-399cc.
Along with the most viewed ATVs, this data also provides values for these popular quads. These values are shown to Powersports Business readers before Kelley Blue Book publishes its quarterly findings.
Kelley Blue Book works with industry auctions, private parties, dealers and receives consumer feedback from its Web site to identify the wholesale values.
The Kelley Blue Book Wholesale Value is based on clean units, fully reconditioned and ready for resale.
The Trade-In Value is what dealers should pay a consumer. These values do not include additional equipment or mileage adjustments.The powersports section of KBB.com received an average of more than 6.8 million visitors (customer views) in a recent quarter and has an average of more than 6.5 million visitors annually.
MIC, EICMA partner to have ATV symposium in China
An ATV symposium has been added to the EICMA China event held in Beijing, June 11-13. The symposium will be facilitated by the Motorcycle Industry Council (MIC) in partnership with the organizers of EICMA Chinese Chamber of Commerce for Motorcycle (CCCM), announced the MIC.
“We’d like to express our appreciation to Costantino Ruggiero, managing director of EICMA, who paved the way for MIC’s participation at this exciting new motorcycle exhibition in China,” MIC President Tim Buche said in the press release. “The ATV symposium will provide a tremendous opportunity to exchange information and ideas on ATV issues around the world with government regulators, industry and other stakeholders.”
Topics to be covered at the three-hour ATV symposium include market dynamics, consumer use, safety and training, vehicle standards, technical issues and regulatory issues, such as mandatory standards, youth vehicle requirements and testing and certification.
Florida Approves ATV Safety E-Course for Certification
Florida is the first state using the ATV Safety Institute’s (ASI) online E-Course (https://cbt.svia.org) to earn certification for an off-highway vehicle certificate.
The Florida Division of Forestry worked with the ASI to create state-specific details for a specialized Florida E-Course, a Web-based curriculum.
By Florida law, when operating an off-highway vehicle on public land, all riders ages 6-15 must possess a Florida OHV Safety Certificate and they must be supervised by an adult.
“We are excited to be able to reach so many more people with safe and responsible OHV use messages through the ASI E-Course,” said Tami Leonard, OHV recreation coordinator for Florida’s Division of Forestry.
