Dealer education conference & expo returns

Profit Xcelerator, the two-day Powersports Business Conference & Expo educational event aimed solely at improving dealer profitability, has secured a location and has been scheduled for this October.

Powersports Business, along with the industry’s leading suppliers, will hold ProfitX 2010 on Oct. 15-17 at Las Vegas’ Red Rock Resort & Spa.

Last year’s inaugural event attracted more than 350 participants, including more than 250 dealers from more than 40 states. Dealers attended more than 15 educational seminars and panel discussions covering a range of dealership profit centers, from new unit sales to PG&A profitability to e-commerce.

“I found the entire event to be a real eye-opener for me,” Candace Laidig, owner of Holeshot KTM and a 2009 PSBX attendee. “I was stuck in this rut. All of the seminars sort of snapped me back to now!”

Another full line-up of market-relevant educational seminars and panels to be featured at the 2010 ProfitX will be announced in the coming weeks, says Powersports Business Editor Neil Pascale.

Last year, dealers visited with more than 25 leading industry suppliers in the ProfitX expo hall, and this year, with participation interest from additional suppliers, the number of exhibits is expected to grow.

“Dealers recognized last year that ProfitX delivered them three separate educational opportunities in this one event,” Pascale explains. “The educational sessions are the most obvious of course, but the peer-to-peer interaction proved invaluable, and the access to the industry’s leading suppliers and the business solutions they offered is unmatched in an environment like this, where everyone is there to learn and grow.”

Suppliers agreed.

“I enjoyed the intimacy of the event,” said Paige Bouma, sales development manager for Cycle Trader, one of the exhibitors at the 2009 ProfitX. “By the end of the show, vendors and dealers were speaking one-on-one, making it a great networking opportunity.”
