Aftermarket acquisition announced
The corporation behind Wiseco Performance Products and other aftermarket companies has broadened its portfolio.
Performance Motorsports Inc. (PMI), which owns Wiseco as well as JE Pistons, K1 Technologies and ProX Racing Parts, has purchased the assets of Innovate Motorsports Inc. Innovate is a supplier of universal digital tuning tools for internal combustion engines.
“Innovate Motorsports is an exciting addition to our family of high-performance companies,” said Steve Kelley, vice president of Performance Motorsports. “We intend to aggressively expand Innovate’s industry-leading digital tuning and combustion management products and technologies.”
Cort Charles, general manager of Innovate Motorsports, said the company is excited to join the Performance Motorsports family of companies.
“Being part of PMI’s respected stable of brands will offer Innovate Motorsports significant opportunities for growth and additional capabilities to further develop our brand, product technology and global presence,” he said.

Wimmer Custom Cycle Ends distribution arrangement
In an effort to be more price competitive in the industry, Wimmer Custom Cycle has recently ended its distribution agreement.
Lee Wimmer, president of Wimmer Custom Cycle, stated in a press release, “Now, more than ever, the consumer is shopping for the best price and we have found that having a distribution price level makes the MSRP too high.
“We want all the dealers that have purchased from (Drag Specialties) in the past to know they will be approved dealers directly with us with a minimum of paperwork. We are also creating better dealer sales incentives to deal directly with us. We will still offer the great factory technical support and will continue making the best intakes the market has to offer.”
Wimmer also said the company has relocated its sales and distribution facility to Harleysville, Pa., along with supporting sales and service in Murrells Inlet, S.C.

Aftermarket company redesigns its Web site
Customers visiting Works Connection’s newly redesigned Web site, www.worksconnection.com, will enjoy a variety of new features designed to improve their online shopping experience, according to owner Eric Phipps.
“As the new site catalogs products by manufacturer, model and year, the customer need only navigate to their specific page to see every product Works Connection offers for their motorcycle or quad,” Phipps said.
The new Web site includes new products and 2010 model applications.

accessory manufacturer adds international distributors
Motorcycle accessory manufacturer Cycle Guys has named two new international distributors, Parts Canada and Australia’s WAM Distributors, the company said in a press release. “As we continue to expand our product line, we’ve sought out the best distributors in each new market,”?Tim Monroe, president of The Cycle Guys, said in the press release. In the United States, the company’s products are distributed by Tucker Rocky.
