Jul. 13, 2009 – Arctic Cat adds 2-up offering

Providing a peak at part of its 2010 model lineup, Arctic Cat unveiled an additional side-by-side offering as well as a new 2-up model.
These lineup additions were part of the manufacturer’s recently announced 2010 early releases. Arctic Cat will announce the rest of its 2010 models later in August.
The early releases include the TRV 700, a 2-up model that will compliment the company’s 550 model. Arctic Cat says the “2-up category continues to grow, outpacing the ATV industry.”
Both the 700 and 550 models will feature improved ergonomics and an easy pin-pull removal system that allows riders to turn the TRV into a single-rider vehicle. The 2010 models also will have a new electronic two-wheel drive/four-wheel drive differential lock switch on the right-hand control that will allow riders to switch between two-wheel drive and four-wheel drive much easier. The models — both available in Metallic Black — also allow the rider to set the shocks between five different positions, enabling the rider to tailor the ride to individual riding styles and different terrain. Besides the new 2-up model, Arctic Cat also announced:

It will bring back its MudPro, its quad built for enduring the mud. The ATV, which features a snorkel air intake, became the company’s No. 1 selling 700 model last year.

It has a new camo pattern, called Advantage Timber Camo, for its 700H1 EFI and 550H1 EFI. Arctic Cat said, “camo ranks very high in color preferences with only 54 percent buying it for hunting and the rest buying it for its look and appearance.”

It will respond to consumer and dealer demand for its Metallic Green paint offering. This year, that color will be provided on two LE models: The 700 HI EFI and the Thundercat 1000H2 EFI.
The company also announced some side-by-side news, including its 2010 Prowler 550 XT. This UTV comes with a package that includes aluminum wheels, bumper and a cargo box with a 600-pound payload capacity. The 550 XT also features a tool kit that is molded into the passenger-side seat for easy access. The UTV will be available in Red, Marsh and Lime colors.
