Major metric OEM reports dramatic decline in powersports sales

Honda’s North American sales of its motorcycles, ATVs and PWCs in its most recent quarter fell 52 percent compared to the year-ago period, the company reported.

Honda’s North American sales in its motorcycle segment totaled 72,000 units, a drop from 150,000 in the year-ago period, in its fiscal fourth period, which ended March 31.

For motorcycles alone, Honda’s North American new unit sales totaled 45,000, a decline of 47 percent from the year-ago period.

For its entire fiscal year, Honda’s North American motorcycles segment sales totaled 320,000 units, a drop of 29 percent.
