Take a Friend Snowmobiling campaign a success

Take a Friend Snowmobiling Week, Feb.14-22, is a success thus far, Ed Klim, president of the International Snowmobile Manufacturers Association (ISMA), told Powersports Business.

“This is the first year we’ve promoted the Take a Friend Snowmobiling Week,” said Klim, “and we are very pleased with the response.” He adds visits to the campaign’s Web site, www.gosnowmobiling.org, have increased more than 100 percent compared to last year.

The majority of state and provincial snowmobile associations have endorsed the campaign and many clubs throughout North America are holding Take a Friend Snowmobiling Week events, says Klim.

“We are finding (as our consumer research told us) that people who don’t own snowmobiles do want to go snowmobiling, but they simply don’t know how. They don’t know where the trails are, and many people who don’t know people that snowmobile are really lost on how to get started,” noted Klim, “So this campaign has encouraged non-snowmobilers to reach out and give it a try and when they do, they like it.”
