Jan. 19, 2009 – Custom Chrome to unveil online site

More than six months after paring down its business, national distributor Custom Chrome will come to the V-Twin Expo with a bigger catalog and an enhanced online presence.
Custom Chrome, now a division of DAE-IL USA Inc., ceased its Motorcycle Stuff operations this past summer, opting to get out of the metric segment and concentrate on the V-twin market.
At the V-Twin Expo in Cincinnati, the company will display that increased market focus with its new catalog, which will feature more than 2,000 new parts and accessories and a “whole new look and feel,” said Steve Veltri, Custom Chrome’s vice president of sales and marketing.
Veltri also said the distributor has launched its own eStore at www.customchrome.com. The site allows consumers to shop and buy online through one of the distributor’s dealers.
“We have a seminar set up for Cincinnati to educate more dealers on this exciting new revenue opportunity,” Veltri said.
The seminar will be held from 10-11 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday of the Expo, which will be held Feb. 6-9.
Custom Chrome will have a larger presence at the Expo this year, Veltri said, adding the company will have two of its show domes that it has used previously at Sturgis.
Besides addressing its presence at Cincinnati and its parts supply, Custom Chrome also has taken a harder look at its expenses. Veltri said the company relocated its corporate headquarters. The company still resides in Morgan Hill, Calif., about 5 minutes away from their previous location. The move has allowed the company to reduce its renting expenses by 60-plus percent, Veltri said. psb
