PSB wants to know: How do you plan to attract additional holiday business?

With the holiday season approaching, Powersports Business is asking companies what they’re doing to attract additional business.

This year U.S. consumers plan to spend an average of $832.36 on holiday shopping, according to National Retail Federation’s (NRF) 2008 Holiday Consumer Intentions and Actions Survey, conducted by BIGresearch. The amount is up nearly 2 percent compared to last year. It’s the lowest increase in planned consumer spending since the survey began in 2002.

Sales or promotions are key factors in determining where consumers will decide to spend their dollars, the consumer survey found. Forty percent of shoppers say sales and promotions are the largest determinant in where to shop. Another 12.6 percent say everyday low prices are most important. Other consumers rated selection, 21.5 percent, and merchandise quality, 13.4 percent, as the primary factor.

PSB readers can submit their response to the holiday poll on PSB’s home page, Powersportsbusiness.com.

This will be one of an ongoing series of questions that will be posted weekly where visitors can answer the poll and then see immediate results.
