Aug. 11, 2008 – Club Car unveils 900 Series UTVs

WINTERGREEN, Va. — Club Car Inc. introduced its newest lineup of consumer utility vehicles, the XRT900 series, to a gathering of consumer and trade media.
Built on a steel frame and offering several packaging options for consumers to choose from, the series offers an affordable, full-featured, mid-sized vehicle for the rural consumer looking for something with the work capabilities of a utility vehicle.
“Utility vehicles are one of the fastest-growing markets in the powersports and agriculture segments,” said Matt Glendon, consumer category manager for Club Car, who says the segment has enjoyed 10 percent annual growth for several years. “However, the cost of a quality utility vehicle is still out of the price range for many consumers. While they want a comfortable, capable vehicle, the price tag prohibits them from making the leap from an ATV to a UTV. We plan to change that with the 900 series.”
The XRT900 series offers three professional-grade vehicles with what the company says is best-in-class technology, features and performance. Features of the vehicles include shift-on-the-fly four-wheel drive and four-wheel disc brakes, among others. The vehicles also feature a commercial-grade Vanguard 480cc V-twin engine drive and independent rear suspension that allow for a smooth ride and off-road capability. In addition, each vehicle in the XRT900 category comes standard with Club Car’s two-year warranty.
The three new models include the XRT950 4×2 with rear-wheel drive (MSRP $6,899); the XRT950 4×4, which features independent rear suspension, four-wheel hydraulic disc brakes and 25-inch tires (MSRP $7,599); and the XRT950 EX, which comes with alloy wheels, a windshield, canopy, rear enclosure, brushguard and fog lights (MSRP $8,899).
Club Car officials say the company will build the XRT900 vehicles to order with no minimums or order periods for dealers. The UTVs will be shipped in the Club Car fleet in roll-off fashion and ready for immediate sales.
The company is also offering a special 0/0/0 financing special to coincide with the launch of the XRT900 line, allowing qualified consumers to finance a new vehicle for no money down, no interest or payments for 12 months, or choose free upgrades on certain models.
Officials say production is expected to begin in the fall, with the new vehicles available to dealers around Jan. 1. For more information, visit www.clubcar.com.
