GMG announces closure, liquidation of Motorcycle Stuff division assets

After 37 years, Global Motorsport Group will liquidate all inventories of its Motorcycle Stuff division and stop operations by the end of August, according to a company press release.

After the buyout of Global by Dae-IL USA, Holger Mohr, CEO of GMG/Custom Chrome, says the decision was coming.

“Though our decision was a painful one in that it affected friends and family,” Mohr said in the release, “it became apparent following the purchase of GMG by Dae-IL USA Inc., that the Motorcycle Stuff division would not be part of our long-term strategy to increase our focus on our core strengths in the American V-twin industry and grow our business.”

Global Motorsport Group did say Custom Chrome won’t be affected by the move. Motorcycle Stuff dealers that have a Custom Chrome account won’t see any changes because phone lines will remain open as well as Motorcycle Stuff’s online access.
