Mussel Woes

California dealers might want to remind their customers about the seriousness of the Quagga and Zebra mussel issues, and how serious local inspectors are taking the issue. One rider recently posted the details of his Father’s Day online, a day that included a $6 launch fee plus a $7 inspection fee. The problem? The inspector found water in the bilge and turned him away, not only ruining the rider’s Father’s Day plans, but also resulting in the banning of his craft from the water for five days as a precautionary measure. The catch is the ride was this owner’s first of the season. The source of the water was simple condensation, dripping off the cooler compartment after it had been loaded with ice and waters earlier that morning. psb
