Changes to motocross bikes highlight Kawasaki’s early releases

Big changes to two of Kawasaki’s motocross offerings highlight the company’s 2009 early releases.
The company’s KX 450F (MSRP: $7,549) and 250F (MSRP $6,499) received significant chassis and engine upgrades.

Kawasaki also is bringing its racing partnership with an energy drink provider to dealerships with Monster Energy-edition bikes and ATVs.

The KX 450F for 2009 will feature fuel injection as well as a new, lighter frame. Part of the chassis improvement included using a new process to form the down tube and shrinking the cross-sections of the main spars.

While the 250F will remain carbureted for 2009, it also received the frame improvements.

Part of the Kawasaki early release also offered upgrades to its utility-oriented UTV, its 4000 series Mule. The gas-powered Mules in that segment now feature fuel injection and power steering, which were previously only available on the diesel UTVs.
