JAMA continues to scale back production and exports

Japanese Automobile Manufacturers Association (JAMA) members cut back severely on production and exports in April to match consumer demand.

JAMA manufacturers produced 75,977 units in April. Compared with the 136,229 units total recorded for the same month of the previous year, this is a 44.2 percent decrease. The decline is the eighth consecutive month production has decreased over the same month of the previous year.

Motorcycle exports from JAMA members were recorded as 74,856 units for April. Compared with the 123,260 units shipped overseas in the same month of the previous year, this is a 39.3 percent decrease. The cut in exports was the seventh consecutive month of fewer exports compared to the same month of the previous year.
