Polaris recalls 11,300 ATVs

Polaris Industries recalled about 11,300 select Outlaw IRS ATVs of the model years 2006-2008, the CPSC reported. The vehicles were sold from January 2006-January 2008 for $6,900-$7,400.

A retention bolt can come loose causing the rear wheels to lock up. Polaris has received 11 reports of loss of control.

All the models include 2006 Outlaw 500 with Independent Rear Suspension (IRS), 2007 Outlaw 500 IRS, 2007 Outlaw 525 IRS and 2008 Outlaw 525 IRS. The model name can be found on the decals located on either side of the fuel tank. Registered consumers have been contacted directly about the recall.
