Motorcycle Hall of Fame Museum unveils new exhibit

The Motorcycle Hall of Fame Museum will spotlight more than 100 of the world’s most recognizable enthusiasts in its new exhibit, “MotoStars: Celebrities + Motorcycles,” the museum said in a press release Dec. 13. Scheduled to open in late March 2008, the 8,000 sq. ft. exhibit will include machines, memorabilia and tales from celebrities’ favorite two-wheel adventures.

A dedication ceremony for “MotoStars: Celebrities + Motorcycles” will be held June 28, 2008, on the grounds of the Motorcycle Hall of Fame Museum in Pickerington, Ohio.

Notable celebrities offering personal motorcycles and memorabilia to the exhibit are Dan Gurney, auto racer and Alligator motorcycle inventor and manufacturer; Bob Lutz, General Motors vice chairman; “King of the Kustomizers” George Barris; and Neil Pear, Rush drummer and lyricist. Famous movie bikes include the 2004 MV Agusta F4-SPR Will Smith rode in “I, Robot.” Exotic custom motorcycles Austin Weiss designed and built for entertainers such as Black Eyed Peas frontman Will.I.Am and comic Carlos Mencia will also be on display. Additional contributors will be announced in the months leading to the exhibit opening.

Manufacturers, builders, collectors or individuals interested in lending appropriate bikes or ephemera in support of “MotoStars: Celebrities + Motorcycles” are invited to contact exhibit curator David Morris.

Following the exhibit’s installation at the Motorcycle Hall of Fame Museum, a national tour of “MotoStars: Celebrities + Motorcycles” is planned.
