Yamaha Issues Recall on 2007 Phazer Models
Yamaha Motor Corp. has issued a recall on its 2007 Phazer models because of a potential steering problem.
While no accidents or injuries have been reported as a part of the problem, there is a possibility that snow and ice can stick to the steering idler arm. This could cause a loss of steering ability, which could lead to an accident.
The exact models affected include the Phazer, the Phazer FX, the Phazer GT, the Phazer Mountain Lite and the Venture Lite. About 5,700 units are cited for the recall. The at-risk snowmobiles were sold between June 2006 and September 2007.
The necessary repairs will be made for free at Yamaha dealers. All registered owners should receive notification by mail.
Bikeman Opens Eastern Shop
Wisconsin-based Bikeman Performance will have an Eastern presence as it opens a satellite shop in Herkimer, N. Y. The location will be called Bikeman Performance East.
Erich Long, owner of Bikeman, said an Eastern location makes sense. “We have so many customers out here,” he said.
The shop will be run by Jake Jenkins, who’s done a lot of testing for Bikeman.
The shop will do installations and service, and will work with DynoTech for its dyno tuning. It will have a retail section and also be a place to pick up parts. PSB
