BRP recalls 2008 snowmobile models

Ski-Doo model year 2008 snowmobiles were recalled by BRP because of crash and fire hazards, according to a report released by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission.

About 2,700 units were recalled because the snowmobiles’ fuel tanks can crack, allowing liquid fuel vapor to leak, causing fire and burn hazards. There is also a problem with the throttle cable leading to loss of speed control causing crash hazards. However, there have been no incidents reported.

The snowmobiles were sold from August through October between $9,700 and $11,200. Exact snowmobiles affected are the Ski-Doo model year 2008 MXZ Adrenaline 800R, MXZ X 800R, MXZ TNT 500SS, MXZ Trail 500SS and Summit Everest 154 800R. The model name is located on the side panels.
