BRP marks Sea-Doo’s 20th anniversary with new models

To celebrate the Sea-Doo’s 20th year, BRP has added new models to its lineup: the 255 hp RXPTM-XTM and RXTTM-X and a PWC ballast system on the Sea-Doo WAKETM model, the company said in a press release Aug. 23.

BRP returns to its muscle heritage with a new category of racer-inspired models for 2008 in the RXP-X 255 and RXT-X 255. The X models use a new supercharged and intercooled 255 hp Rotax 4-TEC engine, the most powerful the company has used in a PWC.

The ballast system on the WAKETM allows the rider to add up to 200 pounds to the rear swim platform for greater “pop” when launching off the wake, providing more jump height and easier wake-to-wake jumping. The easy-fill and removable ballast system uses a large non-skid surface, footrests for the rear-facing spotter, and is integrated with a standard board rack.

“Today’s Sea-Doo watercraft are 70 percent quieter and 90 percent cleaner than pre-1988 PWCs and all 2008 Sea-Doo models have earned the CARB 3 star rating for ultra-low emissions, while meeting EC rules for low noise,” said Yves Leduc, BRP’s vice president and general manager of snowmobile, PWC, ATV and sport boat operations in North America.
