July 2, 2007 – Manheim adds to powersports auction sites

Manheim has increased its number of auction locations that sell powersports vehicles by making a Wisconsin site a powersports wholesale arena.
The company’s Metro Milwaukee Auto Auction, located in Caledonia, Wis., was recently added as a specialty sale, offering motorcycles and other powersports vehicles, bringing the number of Manheim specialty auction locations to 21.
Manheim’s specialty sale locations feature boats, RVs, motorcycles and other powersports units, including ATVs, personal watercraft and snowmobiles for dealers.
“Expanding our auction locations based on market growth and customer need is a reflection of the growing demand for motorcycles, powersports and other specialty units in these areas,” said Karen Braddy, director of heavy trucks, highline and specialty for Manheim. “We are pleased to see our specialty auction locations expand and are confident we’ll continue to grow.”
Metro Milwaukee Auto Auction holds its specialty sale every four weeks. The sale focuses on motorcycles and powersports. The number of units offered at Metro Milwaukee’s specialty sale continues to grow, with more than 130 units featured at the April sale.
“This region of the country has several powersport needs due to the different seasons and changes in weather,” said Rik Petrovsky, Metro Milwaukee Auto Auction specialty sales manager. “Whether a customer is looking for a snowmobile or a See Doo, we have the units at our sale to accommodate their needs.”
Manheim’s specialty sales are available via Manheim Simulcast — an Internet-based system that allows dealers to buy and sell vehicles online that are moving through live auction lanes. Metro Milwaukee Auto Auction’s next specialty sale is scheduled for June 13 at 12:30 p.m. CDT.
