Being part of the international stage — with its chance to reach out to an entirely different demographic — is increasingly accessible for aftermarket companies of all sizes.
Here are six events that aftermarket officials tell us are the major players in international powersports shows. The emerging Asian market is evident here, particularly with the recent addition of an international motorcycle show in Singapore, which is being put on by EICMA’s organizers.
Unlike the annual Indianapolis Dealer Expo, all the shows listed below are both trade and consumer shows. However, many offer a trade-only preview before the public arrives.

Taiwan International
Motorcycle Industry Show
May 18-20, 2007

About the event: The Taiwan show has more than 72,000 square feet of indoor exhibit space and more than 78,000 square feet of outdoor exhibit space. In 2006, it attracted 15,000 attendees. The show has both vehicle and aftermarket exhibitors, including motorcycles, scooters, ATVs, power-assisted bicycles, electrically driven motorcycles, engines and parts, motorcycle frames, parts and accessories, noise and emission inspection equipment, maintenance equipment, and components and accessories manufacturing equipment.

EICMA International Bicycle & Motorcycle Industry Expo

About the event: In 2006, the 64th EICMA drew 530,000 attendees, eclipsing the previous record turnout by more than 30,000. The 2006 show used 1.33 million square feet of exhibition space and has both vehicle and aftermarket exhibitors.

About the event: In 2006, the show had 144,000 visitors. This year, the show will use more than 1 million square feet of exhibition space. Both vehicle and aftermarket exhibitors will display at the show.

About the event: In 2006, Intermot Cologne utilized 120,000 square meters of hall space and 75,000 square meters of outdoor space and had 187,000 visitors. The show has vehicle and aftermarket exhibitors, but only products related to motorcycles and scooters, including motorized vehicles, trailers and sidecars, components and accessories for motorcycles, engines and components, electrical equipment, clothing, motorcyclists’ gear, machines, tools, workshop and shop equipment, raw materials, semi-finished products, packaging materials, lubricants, gearbox, transmission oil, care products and organizations.

About the event: In 2007, the exhibition had 5,000 attendees and used 10,000 square meters of exhibit floor. The show has vehicle and aftermarket exhibitors, including motorcycles, ATVs, scooters, sidecars, engines, tires, shocks, electronics, clothing, production equipment and industrial techniques.
