UTVs Pass Trial Period at Hatfield-McCoy
A select number of UTVs will be permanently allowed on the Hatfield-McCoy’s easiest trails, said Jeffery Lusk, the trail system’s executive director.
The 500-mile trail system in West Virginia had opened up their easiest trails, or Green Trails, to UTVs this summer in a 90-day trial period. After that time, Hatfield-McCoy officials would look at any safety or trail erosion concerns caused by the UTVs, which are wider and heavier than ATVs.
Lusk told Powersports Business that their investigations found no safety or trail issues, thus five types of UTVs will be given permanent access to the Green Trails.
