PowerSki: Ramp-up continues – September 4, 2006

Officials at PowerSki International Corporation (PSI) say they are continuing to ramp up stock of the Powerski Jetboard Igniter 330s.
To date, PSI has manufactured, assembled and shipped approximately 190 PowerSki JetBoards from its San Clemente, Calif. headquarters.
PSI CEO Bob Montgomery says the company has been in the process of fabricating additional molds necessary to continue hull production.
While Montgomery described the shortage of molds as “a major bottleneck with production,” he said he expects production to be on a target of approximately 25 units per week in the coming months.
“There are approximately 821 different part and components that are required to assemble a PowerSki JetBoard Igniter 330,” said Joe Laurante, operations manager, PSI. “Coordinating the production with our over 55-plus vendors has been quite the challenge to overcome.”
The PowerSki JetBoard Igniter 330 features a patented SuperTorque XT marine engine manufactured under license. PSI officials say the company is continuing to seek a solution that will allow the unit to meet EPA/CARB standards for certification. psb
