Dealer Expo Educational Programs
Dealer Expo educational seminars offer registrants opportunities to learn merchandising concepts, sales and marketing techniques and management skills. Seminars will take place in Convention Center Room 140 on Saturday and Sunday. Each seminar will be 45 minutes long. A 15-minute question and answer session follows each seminar.
10:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.: Open for business-disaster preparedness, Kent R. Davies
11:45 a.m. – 12:45 p.m.: How do you know how good you are?, Otis Hackett
1 p.m. – 2 p.m.: Remember the basics?, Steve Zarwell
2:15 p.m. – 3:15 p.m.: What have you done with your inventory today?, Christy Michaud & Jennifer Robison
3:30 p.m. – 4:30 p.m.: Shopping big equipment? Have a plan, buy right, commit to success, Dave Koshollek
ABOUT THE SPEAKERS
Kent R. Davies, MBA, is a freelance writer living in Phoenix. For nine years he taught business management at the graduate and undergraduate levels at Central Washington University/Lynwood Extended Degree campus and the University of Puget Sound/Seattle campus. He has been writing business management and retailing articles since 1982 and has been published in more than 100 national and international publications.
Otis Hackett is the founder and president of Otis Hackett Group, Inc. a principle-centered coaching and consulting company focused on the powersports industry.
Dave Koshollek started his career in the motorcycle industry in 1970 as a Triumph mechanic and later as a service manager. In 1981 he became a technical trainer at the Motorcycle Mechanics Institute. He spent 16 years at MMI, mostly serving as its national director of Harley-Davidson Training. In this capacity he developed over 36 weeks of specialized technical training that included machine shop and dynamometer instruction. That led him to a position as Dynojet Research’s vice president of USA Motorcycle Sales. Koshollek now runs his own company, DAKO Management, which focuses on the training of others in the industry.
Jennifer Robison, a retail environment specialist for Tucker Rocky, is a veteran of retail merchandising. With 17 years of motorsports experience, Robison understands the fast pace of change within the industry. She has provided consulting and training to Tucker Rocky’s dealers and sales force for three years.
Christy Michaud brings experiences from upscale mall retail management and 10 years at a Harley-Davidson dealership as apparel and accessories manager where she later served as marketing events and promotions manager. She has owned and operated her own small consulting company serving the powersports industry with store planning, merchandising and in-store seminars on retail topics. She has been employed by Tucker Rocky since 2003 as a retail merchandising and environment specialist serving dealerships in the eastern regions of the United States.
Steven Zarwell is a longtime powersports enthusiast with more than 20 years of store management experience and a 16-year history of store merchandising, management and business planning in the industry.
