BIKER TAGGED AT 205 MPH
A Minnesota motorcyclist has been tagged for speeding at 205 mph on a two-year-old Honda. Samuel Armstrong Tilley received a record-setting ticket when a Minnesota State Patrol pilot claimed he clocked Tilley’s 2002 Honda RC51 at 205 miles per hour on rural Hwy. 61 near the small rivertown of Wabasha.
Pilot Al Loney, a 27-year police veteran, said he clocked Tilley covering a quarter-mile in 4.39 seconds, which equates to 205 mph. Stock RC-51 models have a top speed of about 165 mph. Tilley hasn’t returned calls for his version of the incident but is due to appear in court on Oct. 25.
The ticket charges him with speeding, not having his motorcycle endorsement with him and reckless driving. It can be viewed on www.thesmokinggun.com. Tilley bought his motorcycle from Tousley Motorsports in White Bear Lake, where he once was an employee.

AMA PRO RACING BANQUET SLATED
AMA Pro Racing will honor the champions of American professional motorcycle racing at its 30th annual AMA Pro Racing Awards Banquet on Sunday, Nov. 14, at Paris Las Vegas. The annual event attracts America’s best professional racers as well as leading executives from the motorcycle industry. The banquet is the conclusion of the nearly year-long AMA Pro Racing season comprised of nearly 80 professional racing events.
The top three riders from AMA Supercross, Motocross, Flat Track, Superbike and Supermoto as well as the champions of Hillclimb and Drag Racing will be honored. Additionally, the AMA Pro Racing Speed Channel Athlete of the Year will be crowned. Last year’s recipient of the coveted award was multi-time AMA Flat Track Champion Chris Carr.
The banquet is being held in conjunction with the AMA Supermoto Championship finale, and the AMA Red Bull Supermoto A-Go-Go, which will be held on the same weekend.
