Polaris Sends ATVs to Storm-Ravaged Florida

Polaris Industries, Medina, Minn., has sent two-dozen Polaris All-Terrain Pickups to a variety of government and other Florida relief organizations to aide in clean-up efforts in the wake of Hurricane Charley.
A host of law enforcement and emergency services organizations, including the Federal Emergency Management Agency, are using the ATPs to assist central Florida’s hurricane victims. The vehicles are being dispersed by the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Department, and are stationed in the hard-hit areas of Punta Gorda and Port Charlotte, as well as Lee, Desoto, Collier and Sarasota Counties in Florida. The ATPs are being used to clean up property debris around the Charlotte County area, transport law enforcement personnel around the central command area, conduct safety patrols around the county, provide transportation for emergency medical services in outlying areas of Charlotte County, and transport supplies in and around emergency shelters.
