John Deere & Company is one of the world’s largest makers of farm equipment. Deere also is a leading producer of industrial, forestry, and lawn-care equipment. The company’s Commercial and Consumer Equipment division (CCE), which develops and markets ATVs and utility vehicles, had sales of $2.5 billion for the nine month period ended July 31, 2003.
Corporate-wide, the company earned $247.5 million on sales of $11.6 billion for the nine months ended July 31, 2003. By comparison, sales of Polaris Industries for 2002 were $1.5 billion and Arctic Cat’s fiscal 2003 revenues were $0.6 billion.
