Powersports leaders continue to impress

Liz Hochstedler blogEach spring the annual question comes up at Powersports Business headquarters: Who should be named the Executive of the Year?

In my third year in on the discussion, I found myself better versed in the industry and more easily able to contribute my own list of names for consideration. Several came up, and going through their accomplishments made us reflect on the past 12 months and how successful they have been for some companies. Those considered in the running led their companies to increased sales, improved business practices and a push to better their brand and the industry as a whole. Though those names won’t be revealed, and the winner won’t be named until late May, I can say with confidence that we had a tough choice but picked someone who we believe has made a noticeable impact on his or her company and the powersports business.

The same goes for our Industry Leaders. Each year we pick one Executive of the Year, but we also select four Industry Leaders, who have also demonstrated drive and success over the past year. Again, a slew of names came up, each with his or her own merit for nomination. Even though this category had four slots to fill, it was equally as difficult to choose as the Executive of the Year because any number of inspiring executives could stand on their own as Industry Leaders.

We hope you see in the May 27 issue of the magazine that those chosen were selected with care. A lot of thought went into which five people we could say are high-quality representatives of the industry in which we all invest so much time, money, passion and enthusiasm.

Though our decisions have already been made, we’d love to hear from you. Who do you think we should’ve chosen, either as our Executive of the Year or as our Industry Leaders? We’d love to compare your notes to ours. And we’re looking forward to sharing the big news of our choice in that late May edition.
